Cucumber is the vegetable of the heavens, and I call it the vegetables of heavens not because it is tasty, but it is because there are lots of health benefits of eating cucumber.

I once heard a popular saying that an apple a day keeps a doctor away.

I myself, why I do believe that eating apples a day will keep the doctors away, prefer the term: a cucumber will keep diseases at slumber.

While this might sound hyperbolic in a way that I put cucumbers in a bright light, my hyperbole comes with evidences that will certainly back said hyperbole. 

Eating cucumbers is a pretty good thing to do if you want to do something healthy, and they are so for many reasons. Those reasons are:

Cucumbers are nutrient-filled to the brim

Being highly nutritious and highly healthy is one of the health benefits of eating cucumber, and nothing is better than having to consume a large amount of nutritious food (provided you sustain yourself on a well-balanced nutrition diet. There is no point in eating only foods with one type of nutrient without adding another to the mix).

If my words on cucumbers being highly nutritious is not enough, I can provide you with a bit of breakdown regarding it. Cucumbers, especially raw ones, contain 45 calories, 0 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbohydrate, 2 grams of proteins, 2 grams of fibre, 14% of vitamin C, 62% of vitamin K, 10% magnesium, 13% of potassium, 12% of manganese. It is also high in water content, which makes 98% of it.

Filled with fibre, vitamins, and water, there are no reasons why you should put cucumber OUT of your diet.

Antioxidants galore

If you do not know what antioxidants are, then be prepared for a bit of hefty explanation on the topic.

On our body are things called free radicals. When we have lots of free radicals within our body, a process called oxidation will begin in our body. When that amount of oxidation has reached a certain level, diseases such as cancer will struck our body. It will not stop at cancer though, as your heart and lungs are a prime target for oxidation caused diseases. Because cucumbers are filled with fibres, and fibres will do your digestive system good, you can eat cucumbers and assume that your digestive system will work well. Fibre prevents constipation and other malice that can happen on that part of your body.

It can lower blood sugar levels

We all know that too many of one thing will ruin anything. The same applies to sugar and your body. When you got too many sugar in your body, your body will enter some sort of sugar rush trance that will also leads to diabetes. Diabetes is not a good thing to catch, and the only thing that can help you prevent it is lowering your blood sugar levels. Thankfully, cucumbers are known to be able to do just that.
